I’ve compiled a list of my main three meals and snacks while on the trail, as well as details involving planning and preparation before hitting the trail. Given my culinary background, the menu planning was pretty dang fun for me.
I often joke that my favorite part about hiking is the food I get to eat– though it might not actually be that far from the truth! Food is fuel when backpacking and it’s important to bring foods that will excite the taste buds while also offering energy and nutrition. And of course, I always reward myself with a bacon cheeseburger and beer at the end of all my journeys.
